Into Each Life – the video
In the beginning of 2019, Lara Hope agreed to do a duet with me – a cover of an old Ella Fitzgerald/Ink Spots tune. Rather than doing a note-for-note cover (what’s the point?), I decided to swap genders on the track – she was a trooper and took it on. Later on, Neil Alexander came to my place and gave me WAY better piano for it than my ham-handed parts.
So when it came time to make a video for it, I asked – and they both stepped up – along with Sam Newsome and Don Valentine, who did mime horns.
It was a LOT of work… but plenty of fun, and I’m glad to say that it was all done with social distancing.
